Mars is Closer Than Ever
This Friday and into the beginning of February is the best time to view the planet Mars. It's not going to be this easy to observe for at least eight years.
For the next several days, when you see the moon rise, look to the east (opposite the sunset). You will see a steady orange "star." This is Mars. It will continue to rise in the sky throughout the night. Go outside and just look up or get out some binoculars or a telescope and check it out.
